A professional writer and editor, I received my BA in English Writing and Literature from Saint Mary's College (Notre Dame, IN) and my MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University (Cambridge, MA). A Michigan native, I moved to Boston and spent nearly five years working for an independent book publisher. I worked in the rights department where I pitched and negotiated deals, liaised with various professionals, and traveled to many industry events including the London and Frankfurt Book Fairs.
After three promotions, I left the industry, returned to Michigan, and spent two months traveling across the United States by Amtrak, stopping in more than 15 cities. During that journey, I learned the power of storytelling. Now, I work with various businesses and clients on content management, copyediting, and article writing. I have written newsletters, blog posts, personal finance articles, interviews, short stories, and so forth.
I have taught ESL online, in addition to blog writing, creative writing, college essay writing, memoir writing, etc.
In my free time, I take barre classes, drink way too many soy lattes, read two books at once (one for fun, one for research), and travel. For my graduate thesis, I completed a collection of short stories focused on.... . Currently, I am working on my first novel.
I hate driving. My family likes to joke that I can't drive, but I definitely can and will (but only when necessary).
I live a dairy-free lifestyle.
I was raised as an Irish Roman Catholic so I grew up thinking everybody kept Holy Water in their fridge.
My favorite books are East of Eden by John Steinbeck, ....
